TSD Car Rally 2021 is designed to be easily navigated by both professional and novice drivers. During the monsoon season, our 155-kilometer route through kalakund Trails and scenic landscapes offers an unforgettable driving experience. Our route will remain secret until the morning of 01 Dec, 2022 (Day 2) in order to test the navigational and driving abilities of the competing teams. Our expert support staff will always be available by phone and at checkpoints to guide you through the course and assist you with navigation.
Now, a few hints to explain precisely what a TSD rally is –
Time – Velocity – Distance Essentially, these three elements are designed to test the coordination between the Driver and Co-Driver, the driver's mental agility, and his or her ability to stay in sync with a set of instructions that closely monitor the performance on a predetermined course. For the route and navigation, each team is given a Road Book.
Navigation is a crucial component of a TSD rally. The route is kept secret, and teams must use the provided SR Book to reach the finish line. Throughout the course, a speed limit may be enforced at various points and must be strictly adhered to. On the track, there are hidden checkpoints that calculate your pace based on your time and speed. Points are deducted proportionally. Generally, the penalties for going faster than the specified times are double those for going slower. The crew monitors the route to determine the optimal time. The penalties are reduced if the target time is met.
There is no North, South, East, or West; you must follow the direction of your nose as you approach the instruction point.
There is a common belief that a road map is always accurate. Regardless of the odometer you use, you must adjust your drift figures with the road book figures. A precise clock is another indispensable item.
At the beginning of the rally or at intermediate checkpoints, drivers receive instructions on the required speed. According to India's TSD regulations, average speeds cannot exceed 45 km/h.
This may appear simple in theory, but in practise it is a different kind of quest. With the monsoon season upon us, we're hoping for a cloudy sky to add an extra element of excitement to this rally. The above rules and explanation may appear intimidating, but don't let that deter you from joining us for an adventure in the Madhya Pradesh!
